Support the Re-opening of the Dundalk Olde Town Hall!
Community Update (November 2025):
Local not-for-profit Dundalk Team Town Hall has been working with professionals to create drawings to move forward with beginning the work necessary to re-open the first floor of the Olde Town Hall. Community fundraising will soon begin. Our projected reopening date for the theatre is Summer 2027. Watch here for updates!
Background: In February 2025, Dundalk Team Town Hall, a locally formed not-for-profit organization, purchased the Olde Town Hall from the Township of Southgate in a good faith deal, with a commitment to renovate and reopen our beloved theatre and meeting spaces. This deal was made possible by the thousands of people who spoke out in support of this project over the past few years.
The financing of this project will be made possible through the support of sponsors, community donors, and grants. This effort is for the community, by the community and we are so excited about this win for Southgate and our neighbouring communities as we grow in number and need. The Olde Town Hall is the right place to make an investment in an arts, culture and heritage hub.
Exciting things are happening at the Olde Town Hall!

Take It To The Town Hall
This video was made by local videographer Josh Welch. It’s been viewed more than 10,000 times, and features long-time resident and Town Hall advocate Doris Langdon, and the view of a local student who doesn’t want us to leave the past behind as we move into the future.

Timeless Beauty
The Olde Town Hall has welcomed visitors and residents to downtown Dundalk for 120 years. The incredible charm, detail, and character adds so much to the community. Tin ceilings, beautiful wood and stained glass windows grace the theatre. They really don’t make them like this any more. The second-floor theatre and balcony can seat over 200 people at capacity, with meeting space and endless first-floor potential for community gatherings.
Sharing our talents and enjoying the show!
Ideas about the future of this building are coming from the people who live here – movies, plays, dance, theatre classes, session for photographers and videographers.
In the heritage space and art gallery – rotating displays of local history and artwork. Art includes wood-working, quilting, and many other traditional past-times.

Help us bring young and old alike back to the stage in Dundalk. Support the arts and our history.

Voices of the community:
We need to preserve the past to make a better future. One does not exist without the other.
